Sparkle and Shine on stage! Applications are open to join the mini gang of Newcastle Gang Show 2024. Open to Beavers and Cubs aged six to eight by 1st April 2024
Newcastle Gang Show are delighted to invite Beavers and Cubs within the age ranges above to take part in our matinee performance on the afternoon of Saturday 6th April 2024 at the People’s Theatre, Heaton.
They’ll learn songs and dances and take to the stage to perform in front of a packed audience! Come along to the first rehearsal and information session to find out more and take part!

We are looking for sponsors for our show programme and the show itself to help with the running of our production. We sell up to 2930 seats with most parties purchasing a souvenir programme.
Advertising is a great way of supporting a local show with over 90 members from local scout and guide groups, while creating great coverage for your business. We're a registered charity ran entirely by volunteers.

We're thrilled to announce that tickets for our 2024 spectacular are now ON SALE!
Grab the best seats in the house as we return to our home of People's Theatre for our all singing, all dancing family variety show like no other!
All tickets sales for this years show will be through our website and our secure ticketing provider TicketSource. You can pick your own seats, pay online and then receive your tickets via email to either print off at home or display show on your smartphone. It couldn't be simpler!
You don't need to be a Scout to leave this show with a smile on your face!

Newcastle Gang Show is a family variety show featuring Scouts and Guides from across the City of Newcastle and members further afield from Northumberland Scout County. The aim of the show is to give young people the opportunity to develop theatre skills and perform on a professional stage, in front of a live audience. For some this is a one in a lifetime opportunity helping to build confidence, make new friends and have fun.
The 100 plus average cast is made up of young people who are members of the Scouting and Guiding who perform a wide mix of song, dance and comedy sketches for the local community to enjoy. Our modern Gang Shows include a wide range of music, from entry's in the charts today to Ralph Reader's traditional songs.
We're looking for talented Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders from across Northumberland and beyond to sparkle and shine in our next show. You'll sing, dance and act on stage at the People's Theatre after learning the show through fun and energetic rehearsals. You'll learn loads of new skills, build confidence and make so many new friends along the way.
As we prepare for the 2024 show we invite you to pre-register to ensure you receive joining information to be a part of the show.

We are delighted to announce that ticket sales for our April 2023 show are now on sale.
The Gang are back with a bang in a spectacular variety show for the whole family! Expect fantastic songs, stunning dance routines and hilarious comedy and sketches. You don't need to be a scout to enjoy our show!
Due to unforseen circumstances, our 2023 show will now take place at The Peter Sarah Theatre at Newcastle College's Performance Academy at Rye Hill. It's a fantastic modern theatre with great seats, a spacious foyer area and plenty of free parking right outside the venue.
The show runs from Monday 10th to Saturday 15th April 2023 with evening performances at 7pm and a Saturday Matinee at 2pm. Ticket's start from just £10!

A message from our Chairman

Looking back 8 months ago we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our 2020 show due to the COVID pandemic. Who could have predicted how this has turned out and the turmoil it has caused.
We would usually be putting the finishing touches to the plans for our 2021 show but it is becoming obvious that in January, there will still be disruption and even when the inoculations start to become available, it will be some time before everyone is protected and safe from infection.
We had considered staging a show later in 2021 but to make plans for a show prior to the Summer is still risky and if we are planning for an Autumn Show then this would have an impact on the 2022 Show.
It is therefore with great reluctance and sadness that we have decided that our next show will not be until Easter 2022. We are sadly not the only Gang Show that is affected in these current times.
To our cast, crew and supporters; you all deserve a huge thank you for working so hard on the show that was so close to being staged at Easter 2020 and have been remaining positive while waiting to find out if we can perform in 2021.
Stay safe everyone and hope that we are all able to meet up soon.

COVID-19 Update
19th March 2020
We have been closely monitoring the ongoing COVDID 19 situation along with the latest government guidelines and directive from The Scouts and Girlguiding UK. The advice from Government is also that theatres should close.
We are incredibly sad to share the news that unfortunately due to current restrictions, we are unable to continue with rehearsals and will be unable to perform as planned on the 14th - 18th April. All face to face Scouting has been paused and we are working hard to try to reschedule the show until later in the year. Our cast are obviously frustrated and upset that all their hard work and the run up to the show has to stop but naturally support this decision.
We are working through the arrangements for refunds/transfer of tickets as appropriate and will post regular updates via this channel and our website. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to be able to bring Newcastle Gang Show, the oldest running Gang Show in the world to the stage in the not too distant future. We will be back!

Calling all members of Scouting and Guiding across Northumberland! Newcastle Gang Show is once again taking place in April 2020, packed full of singing, dancing and comedy coming together as a variety show perfect for the whole family to enjoy. We’re looking for Scouts and Guides to sparkle and shine performing in the show. It’s a fantastic opportunity to try something new, learn loads of skills, build confidence and make plenty of new friends along the way.
Sounds good? Pop along to our first rehearsal and information session on Sunday 5th January from 2pm till 5pm at Simonside Methodist Church, Heaton, NE6 5JX. Parents are encouraged to stay for the first hour to find out all about the show and how it works. Youth members should wear their uniform. So we can have a indication of numbers we’d ask that everyone attends where possible, if not let us know your interested so we can gage how many people would like to take part in the show. Rehearsals take place every Sunday afternoon, with dance rehearsals on a weekday evening to be confirmed.
The show takes place from Tuesday 14th to Saturday 18th April 2020 at the People’s Theatre in Heaton with shows nightly at 7pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
