Our cast rehearse from January, until the Show takes place at Easter every year. Rehearsals take place in Heaton and the centre of Newcastle. If you are an invested member of Scouting or Guiding and would like to join our cast, ask your Leaders and if they can’t tell you how to join us (or they say that you can’t), please contact us for details. WE DO NOT AUDITION FOR CAST - ANY INVESTED MEMBER CAN JOIN OUR CAST (Cubs and up for Scouting, Guides and up for GGUK).
However, putting on Newcastle Gang Show takes far more than just a cast of 100 talented people. It takes people to buy, design, make and repair our costumes; it takes people to help with dressing the cast; it takes people to put on wigs and make-up; it takes a dedicated team to design and make sets and props and make sure the theatre is ready backstage and for the audience out front; it takes our talented musicians to practise and provide accompaniment for this three-hour extravaganza; it takes the patience and support of parents, friends, family members, leaders and teachers; and, of course, it takes the interest from supporters like YOU. Even this list is not exhaustive and we thank all those who help in ANY other way - the Show would not be possible without their contribution.
Each year, the Newcastle Gang Show costs in excess of £20000 to put on and would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors. We extend our thanks to each and every one.
